Prefects

At Taxal and Fernilee Primary School Year 6 children, who are consistently good role models for younger pupils, may become prefects. This is because the school likes to reward children who always try to do the right thing. All staff are consulted about which children should be given this privilege.

School Council

We have an active and vibrant school council. Two children from every year group are elected by fellow pupils to serve on the council which meets once a week. The Headteacher attends Council meetings in a supportive role. Council members gather suggestions from other pupils on how to improve various aspects of school life, for example choosing dining equipment, the design of their own web page etc.
