The Rainforest

Look out for this symbol on products like tea, coffee, sugar, chocolate and some fruits.

What does it tell us?

It tells us that these products are grown and harvested in parts of the rainforest that farmers agree to look after and protect. They look after the soil, try to cut down as few trees as possible and work to protect the wildlife. This is called sustainability when we work to protect and care for the environment so it will be there for future generations.

How do the farmers benefit?

They get a fair price for their produce and they are supported by big companies like Mars and Kenco, which means they are able to build a better life for their families and communities.

Look at these other rainforest sites to find out some more information about the rainforest.  They are specially designed for children to use. Why not look at the web cams of rainforest animals on the rainforest concern website?
