Taxal and Fernilee C of E Primary School have a twinning link with a school in Tymbark, Poland.

The first school visit was made by 19 of our pupils in May 2001, and accompanied by 9 adults. Their hospitality was second to none, and we were treated like royalty.

Since then, our Polish school friends have visited Whaley Bridge on many occasions and some fortunate children from Taxal and Fernilee C of E Primary School have had the opportunity to visit their school and experience some of their culture.

There is a group of 18 adults visiting Tymbark this summer (2011), they will be attending the 'Days of Tmbark'. This is an annual festival held in Tymbark, hosting a variety of activities, discos, games and formal speeches too. A great insight into one of the ways Polish people celebrate.

Watch out for more news in the coming months.

This is the recent group who visited our school in June 2010. We had a lovely service at Taxal Church.
